We wanted to create a meaningful brand that represented Lincoln with purpose and relevance. The fleur de lys is synonymous with Lincoln (it can be seen throughout the city), however on its own it is not totally unique. By combining four bespoke fleur de lys together, representing the four quarters of Lincoln, we have created a distinctive symbol that can be attributed to Lincoln.
Looking closely at the symbol you can see myriad elements including swords (history), propeller blades (aviation), turbine blades (engineering), floral (Cathedral carvings) and hearts (romance). Typographic characters have been adapted to create a bespoke ‘n’ to depict the variety of arches that can be found within the city’s historic architecture.
We have created a brand and identity with real meaning for a diverse city, reflecting it's character, history and vision.
Grandstand sign gets new look
As part of the implementation of the brand lincoln the City of Lincoln Council are one of the first partners to adopt the new look on the historic grandstand signage on Carholme road.
